Wordless Wednesday: Haiti

I can't really make this "wordless" because I need to ask you to do something to help people in Haiti. I purposely didn't choose a picture of hurting people because my heart just can't take it anymore. But you can see the devastation in this picture. The people of Haiti need your help. There is a wonderful organization that runs the Real Hope for Haiti Rescue Center that feeds and houses malnutritioned children. Their building was damaged and the children are all having to sleep outside. They are also trying to help people who were injured in the earthquake. Licia, who runs the rescue center, just sent her 3 sons to live with her brother in Washington because they were having such a difficult time dealing with everything that is happening. She is also expecting a baby in August! Her husband is Haitan and his sister, who is pregnant, is going to have both her legs amputated. He still has not found many of his friends. Please pray for their family and their rescue center. If you are able to help the Rescue Center financially, they have a Paypal button on their blog or you can mail them a check. You can also text HAITI to 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross. It will be added to your phone bill. Please pray for the many needs in Haiti and do something to help.

I'm absolutely heartbroken for all of the people in Haiti. I can't even imagine going through what they are right now. My MIL is a nurse and is in the process of attempting to get down there to help. While I'm so proud and amazed that she is willing to put her life on hold, I'm absolutely terrified of her heading down there. Did you hear that they had another aftershock this morning. Horrible. Just horrible.

It's amazing the stories that are coming out of Haiti, whether they are uplifting or horrifyingly sad. I know that God is with the people of Haiti, but it's still hard to see.

There's going to be a telethon for Haiti tomorrow as well. Hopefully all the money that is donated will be able to translate into aid that can get to Haiti NOW.

Words can not describe the sadness I feel over this tragedy in Haiti. The horrific images are burned into my brain and I just wish there was more I could do. We did donate to the Red Cross and are looking through our belongings and donating what we can but it doesn't seem like enough! It is just horrible.

We donated to a charity that was delivering water pumps last Saturday. Nice post!
